The Theatre department presents A Color Music Concert, in which a collection of installations are lit to an assortment of live piano music. Through an interactive approach, this concert explores new ways of seeing and hearing works of art, hoping to cultivate an experiential relationship between the audience and a journey of installations, music, and light.
This presentation is a collaboration by students brought together from three departments in the arts: installation artists in Lynne Yamamoto’s Topics in Installation: Memory and Social Engaged Art (ARS 370 ); pianists from Piano Performance (MUS 914, 924, 930) taught by Judith Gordon, Yang Liu, and Jiayan Sun; and lighting designers in Nan Zhang’s Advanced Studies in Lighting Design (THE 353).
Black and/or white apparel is encouraged for maximal immersive experience.
There is a preview on Thursday, November 14 at 7:30 PM.
