Is your child looking to gain a new skill, start a new hobby, or just have some fun with balloons? This 90-minute workshop is a great place to start learning the art of balloon twisting!

This class will teach your child the basics: balloon safety, how to inflate a balloon and tie a knot (see below), how to twist a basic balloon dog, and more. They will leave the workshop with their own balloon creations to take home! Plus, one lucky child will get to bring home a larger sculpture made by the instructor.

Balloon twisting is a great activity that challenges children to improve their hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and spatial awareness. It also encourages creative thinking, and, of course, it’s lot’s of fun! For children who are interested in developing the skill over time, it encourages continued, self-directed learning and artistic expression.

This class is most appropriate for children ages 8-12 years. Younger children over the age of three are welcome to take the class if accompanied by a parent. Balloons are not appropriate for children under three years old, as they can be a choking hazard. Twisting balloons are made of latex (not plastic) and are unsafe for those with latex allergies.

This workshops will take place on three consecutive Saturdays. Each class will include the same basics, but we will be learning a different animal in the latter part of the class each week. Children are welcome to sign up for one, two, or all three of the classes.

Dates / times:
Saturday, September 21st, 10:00-11:30
Saturday, September 28th, 10:00-11:30
Saturday, October 5th, 10:00-11:30

Cost: $20 per child; additional children in the same family are $15
Or $50 per child for the whole series (three classes) ($45 for additional children)

Inflating balloons:
The type of balloons we will use in class are not safe or practical for most people to mouth-inflate. I will be bringing pre-inflated balloons. However, if your child wants to learn how to inflate balloons with a pump and / or practice at home, please purchase this pump and bring it to class:
https://www.amazon.com/Qualatex-Hand-Held-Air-Inflator/dp/B00886F5GM?th=1

Professional-grade balloons will be provided (with an option to purchase some to take home).

Classes will be capped at ~15 children each week.
