Ernest Montenegro and Dr. Foad: ‘Right to Left/What’s Left to Write?’

A.P.E. Gallery and R.Michelson Gallery will co-host an event on May 11th through the 13th. A mural done forty-two years ago in Boston’s South End by sculptor Ernest Montenegro will be re-purposed as a means to address and promote a public dialogue of cultural fusion.

A text written in Iranian born Dr. Foad’s native language of Farsi will be directly applied to the old paintings. The two artists will encourage audience generated content as translated into the calligraphy of ancient Persia, and by doing so will create a Middle Eastern sensibility complimenting Western style figuration.

Please join the artists in this important and timely conversation. There will be food, drinks, music, and plenty to talk about.
