Full event description:
The Heath Agricultural Society invites you to experience the Heath Fair, which began in 1916. Known for its commitment to its rural roots and old-time fair experience, the Heath Fair is one of the few small rural fairs left in Massachusetts. Set in the breathtaking hills of Heath, the first half of the film shows the town-wide effort required for a small community to prepare for the event. The second part of the film shows the fair itself and captures the vitality and charm of the annual event. A panel discussion will immediately follow, featuring Fran Pearson, Fairs Coordinator for the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) who will share the history and importance of rural fairs in MA; the film Director, Larry Sampson and Co-Producers Ashli Bickford and Nate Reininga and members of the Heath Agricultural Society. The Heath Agricultural Society is a nonprofit organization. Discount one-day passes to the Heath Fair (Aug 16, 17,18) will be on sale at the event.
