In this 2-hour introductory workshop you will learn basic skills for improvisational ensemble dance including:
* mirroring the music
* mirroring each other while giving and taking focus
* staying “in discovery” with your body, the music and each other

All the while getting great exercise, meeting great people, and having great fun!

After a 90-minute class, you and your fellow students will then put on a 25-minute performance using what you’ve learned to an audience of friends and family that you’ve invited.

This workshop is led by Peter Pruyne (“prine”), a talented pianist who was fortunate to grow-up in a home with one parent who was a classically-trained musician and another who played by ear. As a result, he appreciates all approaches to music but leans towards the improvisational. After falling in love with improv comedy and musical improv, Peter studied improvisational Music Direction with Mike Descoteaux, Artistic Director of Improv Boston. Collaborating with those who love the spontaneity and joy of this form of creative expression has become one of his favorite things.

Limited to 12 participants.
