WHERE: City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA

Featuring bassist Avery Sharpe with the Green Street Trio Tuesday, March 17th 7:30 to 8:30 followed by the open jazz jam session until 10:30.

We will be featuring one of our local jazz legends, composer and bassist Avery Sharpe as the leader along with the Workshop’s own legendary bassist George Kaye for a two bass hit journey. Jon and I will be there to offer support as well and can’t wait to see what they have cooked up.https://www.averysharpe.com

Just found out about the passing of jazz pianist McCoy Tyner, longtime member of the John Coltrane Quartet. Avery was bassist in McCoy’s trio for over twenty years following the death of Trane. I’m sure we will be paying homage to McCoy and celebrating his important place in this great American music. RIP McCoy.

The concert set starts at 7:30, followed immediately by the jam session until 10:30. $5 per person room charge for the concert set and donations to the band gratefully accepted. City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA. 413-584-4830 #northamptonma
