WHAT: Northampton Jazz Workshop Featuring  harpist Charles Overton

WHERE: City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA.
WHEN: Tuesday August 13, 2019 7:30pm followed immediately by the jam session until 10:30pm

We are very excited to welcome Charles Overton and his grand instrument to our stage on Tuesday the 13th. Currently, Charles resides in Boston where he maintains an active performance schedule as a performer of classical, jazz and contemporary music. Recent engagements include an appearance at Scullers Jazz Club with his jazz ensemble: the Charles Overton Group, regular performances with the Boston Philharmonic, an appearance as a featured artist at the Dutch Harp Festival in concert with the Dutch National Youth Jazz Orchestra, as well as a performance tour of Spain performing Ginastera’s Harp Concerto with Benjamin Zander’s Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

The concert set starts at 7:30, followed immediately by the jam session until 10:30. $5 per person room charge for the concert set and donations to the band gratefully accepted. City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton, MA. 413-584-4830

Also of Interest1. August 8th at 8PM is the Vermont Jazz Center’s 44th Annual Summer Faculty Concert Showcase in Putney, VT. The VJC’s Summer Workshop Faculty comes together in an annual all-star showcase concert. Tickets: $20, available at: or at the door.

2. August 9th is “Jazzy” Arts Night Out Northampton. Dig some great music, wander downtown through the retail shops and find out more about the upcoming Northampton Jazz Festival. Venues sponsoring music are:

3. On August 10th is the not to be missed Springfield Jazz and Roots Festival. Two stages of great music all day long.
