CONTESTANTS
1) JOHNNY CAB 1:40-2:10 pm
Style/Genre: Psycho-Punk rock Hometown: Hartford, CT
Song Link: https://johnnycab1.bandcamp.com/track/bone-jack
Johnny Cab formed in 2016 when Chris Indigo (vocals), threw a Halloween party & longtime friend David Carrier (guitar), showed up by surprise. In between emptying the punch bowl & bobbing for apples, they decided to put a new band together. They put out call for a rhythm section. Steve Dayn’jirus! (drums) & Jeremy Smith (bass) jumped on board. Their fast-rising energetic sound is quickly gaining them recognition on the East Coast.
2) STONER WILL AND THE NARKS 2:25-2:55 pm
Genre(s): Rock n Roll
Hometown: Hadley, MA
Song link:
https://stonerwill.bandcamp.com/album/a-narxist-critique
Description: Stoner Will & the Narks is perhaps the last word on purist old school indie rock. The songs are deep, intellectual in a way that is half Chomsky, half Malkmus, and funny as hell! “For all their indie slack stylings, these songs are HOOK ADDLED and express a very genuine generational angst”- John Burdick
3) HAWKNS ( the band) 3:10-3:40 pm
Genre(s): Rock/Pop
Hometown: New Haven CT
Song Links:
https://open.spotify.com/artist/3LoRk7pfVbC80280sfzz2x…
Description: With Hawkins French as the lead singer, Joseph Frank on lead guitar, Ricky Frank on bass and Josh Frank on drums, Hawkns balances energetic Rock and Roll mixed with infectious pop sophistication. The band embraces an ever-more genre-bending Pop Rock aesthetic as they continue to captivate audiences with musical virtuosity in a manner that is reminiscent of their Rock and Roll predecessors.
4) SHAGOHOD 3:55-4:25 pm
Style/Genre: Heavy prog rock
Hometown: Hartford, CT/W. Springfield, MA
Song Link: https://shagohodofficial.bandcamp.com/
Description:
We’re just some average dudes making the kind of music that comes naturally to us: overwrought, melodramatic rock operas about videogames. Drew Bligh on guitar and vocals, Ben Lane on guitar, Ryan Wantroba on drums, Dave Coffey on bass.
4:35 pm: AWARDS CERMONY
